<p>EUREAU is the European Federation of national associations of water &amp; wastewater services and represent the water &amp; wastewater operators at EU level.</p>
<p>Through 70.000 utilities – reflecting the full diversity of the European water and sanitation services and representing public, private and mixed operators – our Members collectively provide sustainable water and wastewater services to more than 400 million people in Europe!</p>
<p>As the voice of the water &amp; sanitation services in Brussels and the focus of a European network, EUREAU represents a unique and highly recognised concentration of technical, scientific, practical and managerial knowledge in water &amp; wastewater.</p>
<p>The candidate will work in Brussels with someshort-termtravel to meet members and participate in meetings with stakeholders. The Secretary General should have:</p>
<li>excellent language skills; fluency in English and French. Knowledge of other languages will be an asset;</li>
<li>extensive experience in EU policy procedures;</li>
<li>good knowledge of the European water sector or experience in the environmental sector;</li>
<li>extensive experience with the EU institutions (especially with the EU Commission and/or the EP);</li>
<li>the skills to establish good working relations with EU policy makers and Brussels based stakeholders (or at least show capacity to build rapidly such a network);</li>
<li>an analytical and strategic approach with pro-active attitude;</li>
<li>a high dedication for the job and the capability to inspire the team at the secretariat;</li>
<li>knowledge of Belgian contracting and employment regulations (considered an asset).</li>
<li>The overall goal for the Secretary General is to follow/set the long term vision for EUREAU under the guidance of the President and the Board of Directors to whom he/she will report. Together with the President, the Board, the Executive Committee and Chairmen of Commissions the Secretary General will be the focal point for the strategic issues and the goals and objectives for EUREAU.</li>
<p>The Secretary General is responsible for:</p>
<li>the development of the Federation’s Strategy;</li>
<li>the Lobbying, Public Relations and Communication;</li>
<li>the development and delivery of annual budgets, financial reports and other deliverables.</li>
<li>establishing close relations with the members of the Federation;</li>
<li>coordinationbetweenthe working commissions ;</li>
<li>external representation (European Institutions, etc.);</li>
<li>daily management of theFederation;</li>
<li>management of the team (composed of a Policy Manager, an Office Manager and a Communication Officer);</li>

<p>EUREAU will issue a full time contract under Belgian law, limited for a 5 year period with the possibility of extension.</p>
